National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC)
The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is the premier non-profit organization establishing the unified energy performance rating and certification system for windows, doors, and skylights in the United States. As an ANSI-accredited standards developer, NFRC serves as the critical bridge between manufacturers, code officials, and the building industry, providing the essential data required to meet modern energy codes and consumer expectations.
NFRC certification program provides:
Rigorous Performance Metrics: Accurate ratings for U-factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), and Visible Transmittance (VT), ensuring products meet ENERGY STAR® requirements and local building codes.
Participation in the NFRC Product Certification Program (PCP) allows manufacturers to validate technical claims through independent, third-party testing and simulation.
