At the MADE EXPO exhibition in Milan in February this year, Savio (Italy) presented a new product — the Ribanta 5 tilt-and-turn mechanism for aluminum structures. It has a number of qualitatively new features that set it apart from the reliable but outdated Ribanta 4 model, as well as from similar mechanisms by other manufacturers.
In developing this mechanism, Savio's design department pursued three main goals: simplicity — speed — strength.
Simplicity means that:
• No special tools are needed
• Assembly is extremely simple and requires no specific knowledge, so new specialists can be trained in a very short time
• Simple, natural adjustment in three planes: the main adjustments are made on the assembled window
• The system allows maximum tolerances when preparing the profile for the handle
• No profiles with a special groove are required
Speed means that:
• No need to cut the profile corners
• No calculations needed for cutting the rods
• No need to cut the rods and drill holes in them
• All hardware parts are fitted from the front
• The mechanism's parts are supplied assembled and fitted without measuring
• Assembling the Ribanta 5 tilt-and-turn mechanism takes a third of the time of traditional mechanisms
Strength means that:
• with 2 hinges and an additional kit, 3 different load levels are available — 100, 130 and 170 kg; all tested to EN 13126/8
Much attention has also been paid to security: thanks to special burglar-resistant elements, the third — highest — security class according to ENV 1627-1630 has been achieved.
It should also be mentioned that the Ribanta 5 mechanism holds 11 new patents at once.
Ribanta 5 suits Euro-groove profiles for logical and traditional opening, with a vertical espagnolette and with a corner drive.
The system can also be used for the secondary sash and for turn-only windows. The bottom hinge adjusts in three planes. Maximum sash width 1,700 mm, max. height 2,700 mm
