JELD-WEN Launches Curator™ Collection to Tackle Fiberglass Doors' Biggest Weakness: Delamination
JELD-WEN Holding, Inc. launched Curator™ Collection Fiberglass Door Systems. The new door line targets a problem builders and homeowners have lived with for years: fiberglass doors that warp, separate, or delaminate over time.
JELD-WEN built the Curator Collection around a different manufacturing approach. Most fiberglass doors come together in multiple steps, using foam-based cores that can leave small air gaps. Over time, those gaps contribute to delamination. JELD-WEN's new FortiTec™ Assembly process bonds the door's materials in a single step instead, producing a solid, consistent panel with fewer points of failure.
The doors also carry a wood-grain finish cast from real wood, paired with architecturally accurate panel profiles and maple edge details. The goal is a door that looks like stained natural wood but skips the upkeep that comes with it. Solid panel designs in the collection include impact-rated and fire-rated protection as standard features, not upgrades.
For builders, the construction change matters in practical terms. A door less prone to delamination means fewer warranty claims and callbacks after installation. For homeowners, it means an entry door built to hold up across different climates, from humid summers to freezing winters, without losing its shape or finish.
"Builders and homeowners have been asking for a fiberglass door they can truly trust, one that delivers authentic design, reduces long-term issues like warping and delamination, and performs in real-world conditions," said Rachael Elliott, EVP, JELD-WEN North America. "The Curator Collection is the result of re-engineering the entire system around those needs."
JELD-WEN is positioning the Curator Collection for both the new construction and retrofit markets. As more homeowners take on renovation projects and look to replace aging entry doors, the company sees an opening for a fiberglass option that doesn't force a trade-off between price, looks, and long-term performance.
"Customers shouldn't have to choose between style, performance, and reliability," Elliott said. "Curator proves that when innovation is guided by true customer advocacy, you can deliver all three."
The Curator Collection extends JELD-WEN's history in door manufacturing, which includes early work on molded door technology. The company says the new line reflects a broader push to address recurring product issues rather than incremental updates.
The Curator™ Collection Fiberglass Door Systems are available now through JELD-WEN's dealer and distributor network. Builders and homeowners can contact their local JELD-WEN representative for pricing and availability.
