The URBAN AKS 1150-SP single point welder now comes with a new safety package

Urban Machinery showed an updated version of its URBAN AKS 1150-SP single point welder at GlassBuild America 2026 in Las Vegas, the company said. The machine now includes a new safety package aimed at operator protection, a concern for vinyl window fabricators that run welding equipment through multiple shifts.

Urban Machinery did not say yet when the safety package becomes available for purchase or whether it can be retrofitted to existing machines.

The AKS 1150-SP is a single point welder for PVC (vinyl) window and door frames. A single point welder joins one corner of a frame at a time, rather than welding all four corners in one cycle. Fabricators often use this type of machine for small-batch work, custom shapes and flexible production lines.

Urban Machinery described the model as a proven design built for precision, performance and reliability. The new package adds features intended to improve operator safety.
