Smart Glass Tech Introduces Next-Generation PriWatt DLC Switchable Film
Smart Glass Tech has expanded its PriWatt product line with four self-adhesive DLC (Dye Liquid Crystal) switchable films. The new lineup gives architects, contractors, window and door professionals, and building owners more options for matching privacy, tint, and transparency to specific applications.
The PriWatt DLC range now includes four performance levels. DLC 1:01 Ultra Low Dye provides a clear appearance with lower haze than conventional PDLC film. Smart Glass Tech designed it for interior applications such as offices, conference rooms, healthcare facilities, and residential spaces.
DLC 1:04 Light Dye adds a subtle gray tint while maintaining visibility. It provides an option for projects that need a balance between a lightly tinted appearance and switchable privacy.
For applications that require a darker appearance, DLC 1:08 Dark Dye targets exterior glazing. The film provides increased solar control and greater privacy while retaining its switchable function.
DLC 1:15 Deep Dark offers the darkest tint in the PriWatt DLC lineup. Smart Glass Tech developed it for windows, doors, skylights, façades, and other architectural applications where projects call for a high level of tint.
All four versions come as self-adhesive retrofit films. Installers can apply the technology to existing glass, allowing building owners to add switchable functionality without replacing the glazing. This approach can help reduce the scope and disruption of renovation projects.
Smart Glass Tech also offers the DLC technology for new construction as laminated glass and insulating glass units (IGUs). These options allow window and door manufacturers, glazing contractors, and project teams to specify the technology as part of a new glazing system rather than adding film after installation.
Customers can the appropriate DLC technology based on the glazing location, desired appearance, privacy requirements, and project type.
